OUR EXPERIENCE

For over 40 years, Poulet has remained true to our philosophy which may be why people have been coming back for all these years. The food world may have changed since 1979, but Poulet’s founding ideas have never gone out of fashion.

WHO WE ARE

Poulet was co-founded in 1979 by Marilyn Rinzler and Bruce Aidells. Inspired by Marilyn, a single parent of two, Poulet began as a take-out only deli designed for people who did not have the time to cook and wanted to take home fresh, healthy, gourmet food. We have always had a simple philosophy:

Even given that the food is more aimed at carry out it is super good, very affordable, and tastes like something you'd get at a home in France vs. a restaurant in Berkeley. Wonderful!”
